Website Relaunch

Playing It Safe: Hannover Rück

With a premium volume of EUR 12.5 billion, Hannover Re is one of the five largest reinsurance groups in the world. It operates all lines of property, casualty and financial reinsurance as well as program business and maintains reinsurance relationships with over 3,000 insurance companies in around 150 countries. Its worldwide infrastructure consists of more than 100 subsidiaries and associated companies, branches and offices in 19 countries.

Attractive, secure, clear, uniform: Since the relaunch of the extensive range, not only Hannover Re itself has presented itself in a new, modern look, but the more than 100 subsidiaries and associated companies, branches and offices of one of the world's largest reinsurers are now also displaying a coherent - and joint - appearance.

We achieved the uniform corporate design and branding through a central hosting for intranet and Internet and through the migration of the Internet presences to Fiona, our cloud-based content management system. Fiona offers the group a flexible homepage construction kit, which the subsidiaries can use to build their own pages, and thus very easily meet the design requirements.

The hub of Hannover Re's website offering is a comprehensive press and newsletter area for investors and journalists, which is now available to all locations equally. Despite the high volume of data, the newsletter is sent out very quickly and with pinpoint accuracy by Hannover Re via a dedicated server specially designed for this purpose.

In addition to the extensive media center, we also integrated areas for investor relations, online recruiting and numerous feedback forms on the site.

One important reason for the relaunch was the responsive mobile usability of the website: The frontend now flexibly adapts the various operating elements of the site to different display sizes and input methods and enables convenient use of the extensive website offering across all channels.

With our CMS and Ruby on Rails as the development basis, the reinsurer has in the meantime relaunched various web applications and pages, and with its own blog, the dual business administration students in the group now also have a voice: https://www.dualesstudium-hannover-rueck.de – naturally in a uniform corporate design.
